The AUMO Effect

The AUMO Effect is our community outreach program where we have the opportunity to share our love of music and dance with others throughout the year. The evidence for music having a role in medicine is constantly growing, both in terms of patient’s mental state [1] as well as even physical health [2].

The AUMO Effect runs through the main hospitals of South Australia and includes:

  • Performances of individuals or small groups in inpatient wards

  • Pro bono chamber performances for charity and fundraising events

  • AUMO Christmas Crew – a wildly popular group of carollers who visit hospital wards in the weeks leading up to Christmas to spread good cheer

  • Performing at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Premature Babies Christmas Party
